Although this painting was conceptualized from a photograph taken twenty years ago, the memories of the many days spent observing the waterlilies in Monet’s Garden in France is forever and always etched within my mind and a simple photo can bring me back to that time and that beautiful place. I consider this painting to be a bit of a landmark painting, where the majority of the painting was done while I was lecturing, being two places at once. Mon coeur est a Giverny toujours et toujours.
