Description
Clarendon Hills, Il Home by Dana Swasko. Media: Charcoal.
This was one of my early architecture drawings, and I did it for myself to get a little practice. It was not built too long ago, so it highlights some of the recent styles of architecture in homes being built in the Chicago suburbs. I love the time of day I took this picture at; it can really make a difference to play with light and shadows when photographing a house in particular. There are so many different ways for shadows to fall, and it gives the final piece a three dimensional look with the more shadow detail you capture. I still do art shows to this day in the suburbs and I still get people that know which house I drew and where it is!
