Drippy Blue Heart by Abby Goodman. Media: Acrylic.
This work is a fun piece that was inspired after a friends wedding, and was created for a solo show I had at a boutique hotel in NYC. I painted a wood panel, and gilded the surface with copper leaf. Then I dripped enamel paint on the surface in a random pattern, which became a heart. I painted a shadow around the heart to make it pop. The copper surface is left untreated so that the copper can age naturally over time, changing in incremental amounts over the years.
