Tall Prairie Grasses. Early Fall Grasses was inspired by nearby native prairies I wander several times a week with my trusty canine companion. In August, the grasses tower overhead, intertwined with native flowers. As in the natural world, the ebb and flow of the work moves in the moment, not as an effort to recreate a vision, but as individual marks that later become a story I recognize and build upon. Each action nudges the next as I work to integrate place, moment, and wonder. This painting is unstretched and will ship in a tube. Its full size, unstretched, is 46″ x 66″ leaving ample canvas on each side to stretch to its 40″ x 60″ image as shown.
